The first CME in Critical Care was held in Oct 2003 at Hotel Swosti Plaza. The second CME on Critical Care was held in Oct 2004 at Hotel Swosti Plaza. The Bhubaneswar branch of Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine was formed on 17th March 2007 when there were 10 members of ISCCM in Bhubaneswar. The founder members were:
In the executive body meeting held on 9.6.2007 at Mayfair Lagoon a resolution was passed to prepare the bye laws of the ISCCM Bhubaneswar branch & apply for registration of the branch.

The FCCS course was conducted in 2007 at Mayfair. The Basic Course of Hongkong was conducted in 2008 at Kalinga Hospital. An interactive Training program of Critical Care Education Foundation was conducted in 2009 at Hotel Suryansh. The Bhubaneswar branch of ISCCM was officially registered under the registration of Societies act on 15th November, 2011. The registration No 1784-57 of 2011-2012. The PAN no. is AAAA15162J. The 3rd Eastern Zonal Critical Care Conference (3rd EZCCCON-2011) was held on 19th & 20th November 2011 at Hotel The Crown.
